The Team followed the trail of “breadcrumbs” to see how the wrecking occurred. The initial grounding site with the double pile of cannons as the cannons were thrown off both sides of the ship at once, to the trail of ballast stones as the ships hull was smashed to pieces on the reefs. Some of the ballast stones were small round river stones, which found their way into small nooks and crannies.

Three sugar presses were located on the reef. We are assuming these were cargo.

New staghorn coral growth on top of the destroyed coral on the deeper eastern side of the shipscape

The destruction of the coral during the wrecking process has created caves, all of which will need to be investigated
